Remember, when you use the services of a member of the Scottish Decorators' Federation you are assured that you are employing reputable, qualified tradesmen.
- Their work is backed by Guarantee.
- Their employees are properly trained, insured and conversant with the latest techniques and regulations.
- The member and his employees are bound by the Federation's Code Of Conduct.
What if something goes wrong, if you are unsatisfied with their work?
Compare what happens if you have a complaint against a Federation member to what happens if you use a "cowboy".
Federation Member
- You register your complaint with the Federation.
- The Federation investigates your complaint and, if necessary, appoints an independent arbitor.
- The arbitor reports and, if your complaint is upheld, the member is required to make good the work or another decorator is appointed to make good.
Non-Federation member
- You complain to the decorator
- He promises to come back next week
- He doesn't
- You complain again
- You go to your solicitor
- The solicitor, for a fee, writes to the decorator.
- He promises to come back next week.
- He doesn't
- You all go to court, at your expense.
- You are awarded costs.
- You try to get your costs from the decorator who has moved and is now selling second-hand cars.
- You go to your solicitor.....
